Meditation and mindfulness is a natural part of Hatha Yoga classes, however we have two specialty meditation teachers on staff and offer specific courses in meditation and mindfulness. See also iRest for deep wellbeing [Link to page]
Having babies is a pretty amazing time in anyone’s life. When pregnant, women who have been practising yoga will find that they need to modify their practice. It is also a time when women often look to yoga to replace some other activities and to keep fit and strong. After baby is born there is a need to reconnect with the body and build the core again, but with the added complication of having to juggle everything around the baby.
Pre and post natal yoga is run on a pricing structure that commences at $20 per class, but reduces with the purchase of 5 or 10 class passes.
We offer two classes per week for women in the second and third trimester. It becomes more than a yoga class as everyone bonds and supports each other, and are keen to hear the results at the end. Our prenatal teachers are wonderful, creative and empathetic, with excellent training in this specialty of yoga.
Classes are on Wednesdays 6 to 7.30pm and Saturdays 9.15 to 11.45am.
Please book into your prenatal classes ahead as we do limit the class size.

After your six week check up you can catch up with some friends from prenatal and meet each other’s babies at Mums and Bubs. This class has a very relaxed atmosphere and attitude – baby’s moods and foibles are all accommodated with great joy and humour. When baby is playing happily you will get to do some much needed stretching and strengthening, especially focussed on your body’s needs post pregnancy. Same pass as prenatal so if you have left over classes, that’s fine. Any expiry date will be extended by 12 weeks to allow you time to use them up in Mums and Bubs.
Didn’t come to our Prenatal classes? That is fine too, you are still welcome in Mums and Bubs.
Once a quarter we schedule a Prenatal Yoga for Couples workshop. Tell your partner it is for the baby and get him along. No yoga experience is necessary. Couples who have attended in the past have found it to be very useful for both connecting with the changing needs of the woman’s body during pregnancy and also as a preparation for the birth itself. Fathers have been pleased to discover how they can be involved and support their partner. Not restricted to male/female couples – the partner might be an interested member of family or same sex partner too.
You will be invited to join our “Yoga Spirit Baby Bodies” Facebook group which is proving a great way for our expectant and new mums to connect.
From time to time we also schedule a “Baby Body Bolster Bliss” class and “Baby Yoga”. These will always be announced in our newsletter and on our Facebook page so be sure to get connected.
