iRest® is a deeply healing meditative practice that is based on the ancient teachings of yoga, meditation and yoga nidra. Dr Richard Miller PhD developed the10 step iRest protocol to make the transformative practice accessible to a modern audience.
The iRest protocol is most commonly taught and practiced as Yoga Nidra, but also in Body Sensing Movement and in "dyads".
Yoga Nidra is a meditation that might be the easiest and most supportive way to access deep states of meditation, perfect for complete beginners and cherished by the experienced. Typically practised lying down, iRest Yoga Nidra may also be a seated meditation. iRest Yoga Nidra is often led by a trained teacher with skills in crafting the iRest 10 step protocol to induce a deeply relaxed state in which we are infused with well being and able to meet and heal various unresolved issues and traumas. With experience the meditator will be able to lead themselves in the 10 step process.
iRest Dyad is a meditation gift to yourself. In a personal one on one session, the trained teacher asks you to describe your present experience and mirrors your process, holding and supporting you in the meditation. The process unfolds in you at your pace. Being seen and heard without any agenda to fix or change creates the potential for deep insight and healing to be enhanced.
