About the modalities practiced
Restorative yoga
Restorative yoga is the perfect way to recharge. The object of restorative yoga postures is not to stretch but to completely release. The body is supported on yoga props in poses that are often inspired by the classic poses of active yoga, and the poses are held for sufficient time for deep relaxation to occur.
iRest® Yoga Nidra
iRest Yoga Nidra helps you to integrate all the disturbances and traumas of life and to restore to your innate equanimity and wellbeing. It is a meditative practice in which you lie down in a supported relaxation pose and are guided through a deep self-inquiry.
Somatics
Somatic movements in the style of Thomas Hanna allow you to release deeply held muscle tension and restore neuarl connections to muscles that allow you to re-pattern and rid yourself of holding patterns in the body that are causing pain and contributing to mental distress.
Gentle hatha yoga
Active yoga will be offered that is full of the option to modify to suit your own body. The style presented is kind, and acknowledges that we are all built different and have different imprints of life upon our bodies. Nevertheless it will be possible to stretch out, strengthen and raise the heart rate, all within your capabilities.
