“I have become the child of the clouds, and of hope.
I have become the friend of the enemy, whoever that is.
I have become older and, cherishing what I have learned,
I have become younger.
And what do I risk to tell you this, which is all I know?
Love yourself. Then forget it. Then, love the world" - Mary Oliver
As women we go through many cycles of growth and change throughout our lives. We are carers, nurturers, partners, tenders of life around us, often giving out far more than taking in.
Stepping into the later years of our life may seem daunting as our physical appearance, responsibilities and capacity changes. In our youth-oriented culture there can be a feeling of being of less value suddenly.
Fear not! The time of freedom and wisdom is upon you!
You will leave this workshop feeling the power you contain innately, along with some wonderful yogic strategies for keeping the body-mind-heart-spirit humming along in tip-top shape for this adventurous and deepening time in our precious lives.
Our time together will include:
Join Cherise and Michelle for this intimate, reflective, and adventurous exploration of growing into the deepest aspect of ourselves – our inner wise woman.
Cherise Vallet is a senior level yoga teacher, as well as a qualified yoga therapist and mindfulness facilitator. She has been teaching yoga and mindfulness for over 13 years in Adelaide, McLaren Vale area where she lives, and around Australia in corporate settings. Cherise is constantly inspired by the modern wisdom contained in the ancient practices of yoga and mindfulness, and through this lens has seen that growing older is not only an adventure in discovery but an opening into her sense of personal vocation and purpose. Her passion is increasingly in encouraging herself and those she teaches to be true to the magnificence of who they deeply are, and especially empowering women to see the possibilities broaden as they age – in a word coined by Barbara Marx-Hubbard – this is a time of ‘regenopause’! Let’s find the ways to live and savour it!
Michelle Smith has been an educator for over 30 years, working as a class-room teacher, curriculum adviser and most recently, children's yoga teacher. Her passions are many; alongside her career in education, she has also coordinated a wide range of community arts projects and events, including cultural celebrations for women. Music is another of her loves and she presents a weekly music show on Radio Adelaide, championing female musicians wherever possible. In 2014, Michelle's 20 year passion for yoga led her to study at Yoga Spirit studios where she is now one of the regular teachers. Following her bliss has been a vital theme throughout Michelle's life and as time ticks steadily on, she continues to explore life-enhancing experiences with a curious mind and great deal of joy.
