This Winter Immersion will replace the annual winter retreat in 2020 due to the uncertainty of proceeding with retreat in the COVID-19 pandemic.
This program is taught by nine 2-hour online classes throughout
the Australian winter, June, July and August of 2020. In addition, you will have
a private 1-hour session for your private Q & A, check in and co-meditation
experience.
You are invited to go deeply into an inner exploration through the techniques on non-dual Śaiva tantra. Tantra emerged in the Indian subcontinent in the early centuries of the Common Era. By 700 or 800 CE the sages were producing the most amazing manuals of practice, many of which have survived to the present day, but few are translated into vernacular languages in a way accessible to the everyday person.
Fortunately there are still practitioners who have gained insights into these practices through lineage transmission, and it turns out that it is a path most suited to the modern person living in the modern world. Tantra uses the very act of living in the world as an opportunity to discover your innermost self.
(Please note that while sex is a perfectly acceptable mode to explore the whole of one's experience like any other, Tantra is not particularly about sex, despite the way that "neo-tantra" presents it, and this immersion pays no particular heed to the subject of sex.)
Each session will provide practices to be explored in the time between sessions. You will have opportunities for Q & A, there will be some theoretical information and lots that is experiential.
7 June ~ 14 June ~ 28 June ~ 5 July ~ 19 July ~ 26 July ~ 9 August ~ 16 August ~ 30 August
Immersion cannot be joined after the starting date. Enrollments close 15 May.
You will also receive handouts and recordings, plus access to a private Facebook group where Immersion participants can meet, discuss and interact with each other and Tina. Recordings of our group sessions will also be placed on this private Facebook group for you to rewatch, or catch up on should you miss a session.
Tina began her yoga practice in 1971, and though the path has not been one glorious continuum, she has been supported by yoga and meditation ever since. She graduated from her first teacher training in 2009 and has taught consistently ever since.
Ongoing studies and influences have been with Donna Farhi, and Richard Miller and members of the senior training faculty of iRest® . Tina became a Certified iRest teacher in 2016. She has also pursued somatic studies with Martha Peterson of Essential Somatics. Most recently Tina has been deepening her practice in classical Tantra Yoga, primarily with Christopher Wallis, but also with Kavitha Chinnaiyan and others. Tina has a long interest in Indian philosophy and is well versed in the philosophy and history of yoga.

This is a unique experience and Tina is a warm and guiding teacher. All of the practices celebrate life, connection and understanding. The grounds are beautiful and everything is exceptionally clean. Be ready to sit for long periods though there is lots of free time and the body sensing practice gets you moving like nothing else. It's a wonderful experience!

Tina, thank you for opening my heart xo
The beauty of retreat is that it promotes in us a gentle unraveling of the accumulated tensions that develop with the pressures of regular life. On retreat we can experience a soft awakening to something fresh, free and relaxing as we touch the depth of Presence that is always here. Retreat experiences can be very valuable and help to move us in ways that would take much longer through weekly classes and home practice.
However, after returning from retreat we have the challenge of integrating and stabilising the unfolding that occurred in the retreat environment.
An extended immersion such as this occurs over a period of time while we are also "in the world", so the integration is constant.
Retreats are highly recommended, at least once a year, however immersions also have their value, and in this period when it seems unwise to congregate on retreat, is an opportunity to immerse while in the world.
If we are notified of your cancellation by 15 May we can offer a refund less 20%.
After 31 May we can only offer a refund if we can fill your pace from a wait list.
If we need to cancel the immersion for any reason any fees you have paid will be refunded in full.
The booking system will automatically send you emailed receipts and confirmation emails. However, your registration is not complete until full payment is made.
Please email info@yogaspirit.com.au as soon as possible with full details to advise us of your need to cancel.
