Self-care has never been more important.
At a time when we’re all feeling squeezed and the only constant is change, I urge you not to forget your wellness and wellbeing.
I’ve written these words to deepen your understanding of yoga and how it relates to awakening a healthier, happier you.
It’s important to know that the physical aspect of yoga isn’t all there is to it.
What draws you to yoga?
If you’re here, I’m guessing there’s something about it that appeals to you.
More people are learning about the amazing benefits of yoga.
That’s wonderful.
However, as yoga gets more popular in the modern age, it’s often promoted and misunderstood as just a type of physical exercise.
In our fast-paced, commoditised world the true essence and context of yoga has been stripped away, to fit a mainstream commercial image.
Is this type of yoga going to help you?
No.
Going hard and pushing yourself to get a good ‘hot’ workout works well, but yoga offers many other physical and mental health benefits for people of all ages.
Much more than just a physical activity or type of exercise, yoga has deep-rooted origins and meaning.
Yoga is a traditional healing practice for mind, body, and spirit helping you grow as your whole self.
Above and before anything else, it’s a spiritual path of mindfulness.
The good news is that with mindfulness comes the many physical benefits you’re seeking.
True wellness and wellbeing are about allowing this transformation to happen.
Therefore, practicing yoga means preparing to embrace your wholeness when taking this journey.
Intricately connected to balance, happiness, and energy, the purpose of yoga is to build strength, awareness, and harmony in mind, body, and spirit.
Yoga is proved to be of immense importance for the overall well-being of any individual.
This requires patience.
If you consistently practice yoga, you’ll see long-lasting benefits, such as better range of motion and flexibility, and better posture, reducing stress over sustained periods of time.
However, to gain the many benefits of yoga, you need to make practicing a habit.
And it’s much easier to develop a habit when you have a clear reason for creating it.
The good news is that now you know yoga has plenty of benefits, so this isn’t difficult!
Yoga is an uplifting journey that will change your life.
It’s not the best because it’s the oldest, it’s the oldest because it’s the best.
The original path to wellbeing since the dawn of civilisation, yoga has stood the test of time, time and time again.
Preserved by ancient tradition, yoga offers a holistic way to sustainable living.
I hope after reading this you have a new, holistic perspective of yoga.
