Why you need to learn yoga in a live class

In a class, you have support, motivation, and a live teacher to guide your progress. There is strength in numbers - your strength.

Develop a routine that sticks

If you do your yoga in front of a DVD, You Tube stream or online yoga seller, or just think you have done enough classes to know what to do, chances are that all your plans to do your yoga today will come unravelled - I slept in, I had things to do, I lost track of time. So many reasons pop up to keep you from your practice.

A class is an appointment, not just with yourself, but with your yoga buddies in the class and your teacher. When you join a class you meet people and make friends. That is why our day time classes are a great idea as the folk in them often go for coffee afterwards and get to know one another. Real long term friends are made at yoga.

Gain support

When you do your yoga in a group you have greater motivation. The group shares its triumphs and shares a laugh as well. You also cannot underestimate the value of a live teacher being present. The teacher is your sacred mirror. They can prompt you find better alignment, correct a technique that is holding you back of threatening injury, introduce you to new material and help you hold that pose a little longer.

Technique correction

When you are in person with a teacher they can see the little habits you have fallen into in your practice and will be able to offer cues and possibly adjustments to help you to find better technique. Techniques in your yoga postures eventualy become your new habits that carry over into daily life, leading to better posture and movement all the time.

Be part of a community

That's right, it all adds up to being a member of a community. Being in a community helps you feel connected. It is good for your mental health.

We would love to welcome you into our community. You can explore our website to find out where you would like to start or give us a call.
