Course Design
This Yoga Teacher Training Course is like no other offered in South Australia. It is holistic, practical, and comprehensive and adheres to the YTAA requirements for Level 1 Certification. It is comprised of 7 modules requiring 380 contact hours spread over 15 months. Modules entail participation in participation in classes, lectures, workshops, home study and practice and are held in the evenings and on weekends.

The course is a unique blend of Western Sciences, contemporary Psychology perspectives and Traditional Hatha Yoga Studies. It is taught with love and integrity to bring out your innate wisdom from which a true, highly competent teacher develops. You will become well educated in the functioning of the body, sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of a broad range of students, confident and professional in your manner.

Above all, and impossible to separate from the development of your teaching, this course will deepen your connection to the spiritual roots of the practice and will light the path for a rich and rewarding journey of self-discovery.

If you have a dream to embrace yoga as a way of life, to deepen your understanding of yourself and the practice, to share it with others, then this is the course for you.

MODULES COVERED

The Faculty Includes:

Rebecca Richards
In designing this teacher training course, Rebecca has drawn from her work in Naturopathy and Body Therapy and her 16 years exploring and practicing different styles of yoga and approaches to teaching. Rebecca is dedicated to refining her teaching skills and the course grew out of her desire to share the art of teaching with others. She identified a need for yoga teachers to learn through hands on experience while participating in a thorough curriculum that provides sound training in Western Sciences and Classical Yoga Studies.

Maarten Immink

Maarten is an accredited yoga and meditation teacher with a background in exercise physiology and neuroscience. He is also a research scientist in health sciences where he is investigating the potential for yoga as a complementary therapy in addressing chronic clinical conditions. As his knowledge base includes both the wisdom of yoga
and western science, he is able to bridge the two fields, thereby providing students with an integral approach to understanding the amazing human mind-body being.

David Breach
David is a Yoga Teacher and Lecturer with over 20 years of yogic experience. He will share his wisdom with you in the Yoga Philosophy module.

Helen Mathew
Helen is a qualified Ayurvedic Natural Therapist and long time Yoga practitioner. She will share with you her passion for natural health in Yogic Lifestyles and Ayurvedic Studies.

What past students have said

“I have really enjoyed the course as it has developed my yoga in more ways than I
could have imagined, it has challenged and helped me face fears. That in turn has
built my confidence and helped me grow emotionally and spiritually. The use of
different teachers to present the different subject areas and their own personal touch
has kept the course fresh and interesting. To be able to do this course with people
that are encouraging and supportive has created friendships that I know will continue
on throughout my life. “
– Judy, 07-08 graduate

“I have discovered the Yoga Teacher training course to be a
creative, intriguing and a rewarding journey. Learning and
linking concepts has enhanced my understanding of teaching
the whole person. The lectures have always been well organised
and thorough. The studio is a lovely calm, warm environment for
study and meditation. Perfect.” –
CC Corell, 07–08 trainee

“The course sets high standards of learning and each unit is professionally written, relevant and delivered with excellence. I found the course provided a safe and loving environment in which I was nudged out of my comfort zone and into a world of fear and immense reward.” -Adrianne 2005 graduate

“I had been teaching Yoga classes in my local community for 3 years and felt the need to further my knowledge and gain a formal accreditation. As the course unfolded I felt a new found confidence in my teaching, and looking back I feel it has been a huge step forward. As a group we shared an incredible journey, had lots of laughs, and many insights along the way. This is a great opportunity to study Yoga in Adelaide and I have no hesitation in recommending this course to aspiring or existing teachers of yoga.” Lis 2005 graduate

“The course remains very true to the deeper aspects of yoga which are increasingly missing from many presentations of the discipline. The work was deep and challenging in unexpected ways. Over the period of the training as a group we grew closer and by the end of the course I was really proud of everyone’s achievements and standard of teaching. I would recommend this course to people who are looking to deepen their understanding of yoga, either for their own personal growth and understanding or to become teachers.” Lindy 2005 graduate
